World Press Cycling Championship 2023

For the first time, St. Anton am Arlberg should have been the venue of a World Press Cycling Championship (WPCC) - the cycling world championship for journalists - from July 28 to 30, 2023. Three disciplines were scheduled as part of the ARLBERG Giro, one of the largest cycling marathons in Austria.
Now the cancellation of the event is announced.

St. Anton am Arlberg would have been ready for the three-day WPCC, which should have taken place in the sports Eldorado on the Arlberg for the first time. Since the beginning of the year, more than 14,000 journalists from all continents have been contacted, but so far there are only 33 registrations. This is in no relation to the organizational effort as well as the budget that a WPCC entails.

However, all those who are registered for the WPCC can look forward to fantastic cycling days in St. Anton am Arlberg.

The organizers have created an interesting replacement program:

Friday, 28.07.2023:
Joint dinner with the attending press and new media representatives

Saturday, 29.07.2023:
Start at 09:30 for a joint, leisurely ride with some pros from the Continental-Team Vorarlberg

Sunday, 30.07.2023:
Starting place at the ARLBERG Giro – free of charge

A re-registration for the ARLBERG Giro is possible within the next 14 days. Send an email to sport@stantonamarlberg.com and let us know if you would like to participate in the three-day program.
