The Arlberg Giro route
Start and Finish: Pedestrian zone St. Anton am Arlberg.
Route: St. Anton am Arlberg – Arlbergpass – Bludenz – Montafon – Ganifertal – Zeinisjoch – Paznauntal – St. Anton am Arlberg
Cut-off times: Arlbergpass: approx. 08.15 hrs - Zeinisjoch: 13.00 hrs - Finish: 16.00 hrs
The route will be adjusted for the Arlberg Giro 2026. This is because of necessary safety measures on the Silvretta High Alpine Road, causing a detour in one section.
Current Situation – “Silvretta Hochalpenstraße”
As has been reported many times, the Silvretta High Alpine Road will remain completely closed in summer 2026. The reason for this measure is to ensure traffic safety, which is the top priority.
Alternative route – challenging, safe and scenic
For this reason, an alternative route will now be used for the Arlberg Giro 2026.
This route leads from Partenen through the Ganifer Valley up to the Kops Reservoir and Zeinisjoch into the Paznaun Valley and does not entail any disadvantages for you as participants – quite the contrary:
- The route is shortened by around 8 kilometres due to the alternative route.
- The altitude difference remains almost identical. This means that you can expect a tough climb at the end of the Montafon.
- The route gains additional appeal thanks to new panoramic views and varied topography.
The sporting challenge remains the same – and is even enriched by an additional facet thanks to the new route. The heart of the Arlberg Giro – the combination of endurance, speed, alpine scenery and the Arlberg Giro family – remains completely unchanged.
